Allocations criteria

United Way of Russia finances organizations and programs which match the following criteria:

The activities of the organization are designed to meet the social needs of the following sections of society: children (orphans and children at risk), the disabled, refugees and the homeless, the elderly.

  • The organization is officially registered in the RF and operates in compliance with RF legislation.
  • The organization had been in existence for at least one year.
  • The donation of the Fund does not constitute the sole source of financing.
  • The organization commits to providing regular verbal and written reports.


  • Analysis of financial activities of the organization by the accountant of the Fund
  • Visit to the organization by the staff, members of the Board of Directors, the Allocations Committee members in order to observe the program for which the grant application is submitted
  • Review of the application by the Allocations Committee and the Board of Directors on the basis of the comprehensive analysis results
  • Agreeing terms of grant contract
  • Once the grant is given, the Fund monitors the project implementation throughout the funding term. Upon project completion, the organization submits a performance report and a financial report

 Partner status:

Organizations with at least three years of successful cooperation with United Way of Russia, efficient management, sustainable development and open for interaction with all stakeholders are entitled to apply for a partner status. 

Advantages of a partner organization

  • The grant approval procedure is more streamlined for partner organizations
  • On-going financing of more than one project is possible and the annual donation amount is higher

  • Act as a site for information exchange with other non-profit organizations
  • Provide consulting to developing organizations in its field of activities
